Site Updates

Added a few things this evening.

• Added Location and Country for scenery addons. You can edit your existing scenery addons and add this information.
• Virtual Airlines now display under user profiles and with forum posts.
• You can mention users in forum posts using the @ symbol and then typing their username.
• Added permalinks to forum posts.

Additional site updates so far this week. This is not the full list of changes, but everything I can remember at this time. Numerous improvements and fixes have been implemented for the dark and light themes.

Currently working on refactoring the Addon Manager and Telemetry desktop applications into Electron to support more platforms instead of just Windows. Also taking this time to fix bugs with the Addon Manager.

• Global Flight Tracking Map

Added a new page, Flight Tracking to see all virtual airline flights being tracked provided the member of a VA has the tracking app installed and running.

• Videos for Addons

You can now add videos when uploading addons or edit existing addons and add videos.

• Saved Searches

You can save searches you perform along with any filters you have selected when browsing/searching addons. Just click Save this search on the left above the filters. Saved searches can be named and removed.

• Category Improvements

Improved categories for addons, allowing a true tree structure with no depth limit for sub categories. Also added total count of addons per category. Still have many sub categories to add and with that we have added the ability to suggest a new category when uploading an addon. This can be done by clicking Don't see the right category? Suggest one below the category dropdown.

• Upload / Edit Addon

Organized the upload addon and edit addon forms into sections for step 2 to help combat information overload with all the different fields.

Sections are Addon Identity, Classification, and Dependencies.

• Added Location and Country for Scenery Addons

You can now enter the location and country when uploading scenery addons. This will eventually be used to build a scenery map.

• Improved Markdown Editor

Made improvements to the markdown editor which is used for addon descriptions, comments, forum posts and messages. Added the ability to use colors, headings and fixed bugs such as being forced to the top when making a word bold.
