FlyingIron Focke Wulf FW190A-8 flown by Maj. Kurt Bühligen JG2

This is a replica of the FW190A-8 flown by Major Kurt Bühligen of JG2 in 1944.

The unusual camouflage scheme has triggered some debate among model makers and now livery painters - since one of the only known period photos suggests the tail segment of the camouflage is a darker paint than the other regions. This is likely one of those questions that can never be answered with any certainty - but let me know what you think! Shall I make the tail segment of camouflage darker or leave it as is?

Kurt Bühligen was a notable Luftwaffe fighter ace during World War II. He was credited with shooting down 112 enemy aircraft over more than 700 combat missions. He participated in significant battles such as the Battle of Britain, the North African campaign, and the Defense of the Reich. Late in the war, he was taken prisoner by Soviet forces and released in 1950. He later settled in Nidda, Germany, where he worked in automotive sales until his death in 1985.

As with my other liveries, this livery contains historical markings as is my personal preference for accuracy. However, I will gladly make an alternate version for anyone who doesn't feel comfortable flying with historical markings - please just DM me!
