For any new sub categories under Liveries, list them in this topic.
Example:
- FlyByWire - Airbus A32NX
- FlyByWire - Airbus A380X

For completeness, you could add the rest of the FlyingIron fleet, although I haven't posted any liveries for them. I used the exact product name text from their website:
Just off the top of my head…
If I think of more I’ll post here.
I would say even a simpler set of categories would work - GA, Helicopter, Business Jet, Commercial Airline, etc.
We have those currently under the Aircraft parent category. This is sub categories for Liveries so others can drill down to a specific aircraft.
You can see GA here for example. https://hangaraddons.com/addons?categoryId=05aaa6e3-b68c-4dc9-b5c9-b063f6ef1ad7
Understood. I'm just thinking that if you have hundreds of specific aircraft in a dropdown list it might be hard to find the specific plane, so a category might be easier. Especially if you get the specific airplane name wrong (Cessna 172 vs. C172, Hawker 800 vs FlightFX Hawker 800, etc.)
I just want to suggest a label or filter that liveries are compatible with the latest version. For example Aerosoft CRJ V2, PMDG 737 FS2024 high detail update (HDU), FBW A380 FS2024 update, etc. and future inibuilds A350 v2
I think it could become a little cumbersome to have every individual variant listed separately. Perhaps, and this is just an open question for discussion, instead of having “PMDG 737-600, -700, -800, etc.,” we could simply have a broader “PMDG 737NG” category. Then, within that category, creators could apply a label or filter indicating something more specific, such as “-700” or “HDU.”
That way, things may be a little cleaner and easier to sort without creating an excessive number of categories. Though I’m not entirely sure how well that approach would translate to something like the Fenix A32X family, where the variants are a little more distinct.
That is a solid suggestion and now I am wondering maybe having an actual tree structure for the categories since this would allow you to drill down into categories as I could refactor categories to be a true parent/child/tree relationship. Easy to model using a binary tree.
The parent category Liveries would show everything and as you drilled down into the sub categories the result set would become more refined. The sub categories would not display on the left in the filter until you filtered by the parent category as well which would solve the issue of having information overload with sub categories.

Yes I like this approach. One small wrinkle to consider is some sim aircraft aren't officially licensed by the real aircraft manufacturer. For example the Contrail FA50, which is definitely not the Dassault Aviation Falcon 50 😉!
EDIT: The fact that they share the same ICAO designator could suggest you go with the official manufacturer which corresponds to ICAO designator of FA50. It could all be driven by the livery creator adding the ICAO designator to their aircraft which may offer them a very small choice to make if multiple sim aircraft exist per ICAO designnator. Not sure if there's a way to query or (legally) scrape their database though. Assuming there is a solution, maybe it could look like this:
