VR - Auto Optimizer

VR Auto-Optimizer is a .NET 8 WPF application for launching selected Windows flight simulators with temporary, recoverable system adjustments.

It scans the local PC, explains the likely MSFS impact of running applications and services, applies selected performance settings, launches the simulator, monitors the exact new simulator process, and restores recorded system state when the flight end

What it does

VR Auto-Optimizer is a Windows application that prepares your PC for a VR flight and puts everything back afterwards. It scans the machine, explains which running applications and services are likely to affect the simulator, applies the performance settings you choose, starts the simulator, watches the new simulator process and restores the recorded system state when the flight ends.

Main features

• Detects ten configurations across MSFS, DCS World, X-Plane and IL-2.
• Standard and Aggressive profiles, with manual or automatic control.
• Saved profiles for the simulator, the VR runtime and your optimisation choices.
• VR launching through Virtual Desktop, Pimax Play or SteamVR, with a clean SteamVR shutdown that lets the base stations go to standby.
• An optional OpenXR Turbo layer for frame pacing that works without OpenXR Toolkit.
• Live monitoring of frame rate, frame times, 1% lows, CPU load and memory.

Because the changes are temporary and recoverable, it is safer to try than hand editing system settings. It works with MSFS 2024, MSFS 2020 and X-Plane 12.
