Better Hannover 2024

Lighting & Illumination

Landmarks & Buildings: Comprehensive night lighting added to major Hanover landmarks, including the New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus), Market Church (Marktkirche), Leine Palace, Anzeiger Hochhaus, Leibniz University, Main Station (Hauptbahnhof), Theater am Aegi, and numerous churches and streets.

Infrastructure & Hospitals: Better illumination and helicopter landing pads at local hospitals (Siloah, Bult) and the Lower Saxony Helicopter Squadron base.

Vegetation Optimization & Photogrammetry

Tree Cleanup: Extensive removal of messy photogrammetry trees and replacement with realistic 3D trees (looking especially stunning in autumn), particularly in the Eilenriede forest, Herrenhausen Gardens, around Hannover Airport (EDDV), Wunstorf (ETNW), and Kaltenweide.

Bug Fixes: Corrected misplaced vegetation (such as trees clipping through buildings) and fixed terrain issues across photogrammetry fields.

New 3D Objects & Infrastructure

Maschsee Lake: Added multiple marinas (Pier 51, Hannoverscher Ruder-Club, Anleger Nord) along with new trees on the north shore.

Bridges & Waterways: Added new bridges over the A352 motorway, the Ihme River, and the Mittelland Canal, plus a new watermask at Lake Wietzesee.

Details: New greenhouses in Kaltenweide, animated wildlife, and special smoke effects at the GKH cooling tower.

Note: The addon focuses heavily on visual immersion and compatibility with third-party airport scenery, receiving continuous updates for lighting and foliage.
