LYPG Podgorica - RWY 36 Approach Enhancements

Details matter. One thing I always missed on the final approach to RWY 36 at Podgorica (LYPG) in MSFS was the distinctive character of the area: no cemetery, no churches, hardly any greenhouses, and far too many generic autogen houses.

So I created my first scenery package to improve the approach environment south of the airport.

The package includes the cemetery right hand side immediately before the RWY 36 threshold, populated with around 700 graves using four generic types of locally inspired tombstones. It also adds the historic and beautiful Orthodox St. Nicholas Church and the modern white Kapela Golubovci.

The approach area south of the threshold is mainly agricultural land, with a very characteristic concentration of greenhouses. I placed around 1,000 greenhouses according to satellite imagery. AI helped a little with analysing the layouts, but the placements were checked and adjusted manually. At the same time, exclusion areas remove the many inappropriate generic houses that MSFS otherwise places across the farmland.

I also added the missing radome on the hill west of the airport, as well as an additional exclusion package around the cemetery where necessary.

The churches and tombstones were modelled from real photographs. Many thanks to Richard and Luki for the reference material for Meshy AI, and to Bilal for helping me with Blender export. The radome and greenhouses use standard objects from the Microsoft/Asobo World packages. The scenery is designed as an enhancement to the surrounding area, so interference with existing LYPG payware airport sceneries should not happen.

Installation: unzip the download and place all included small packages into your MSFS Community folder. Developed and tested in MSFS2020 (but seems to work in MSFS24 as well).
